15 Thoughts I Have While Running.

15 Thoughts I Have While Running

Now, running is a glorified word of what it is that I am doing. I am walgging. WALG-GING: (v) I use the running app "Get Running" which is available in the app store for $0.99c. I find it really helps to motivate me -- That is when Running Rita, as I like to call her isn't being a total tease.

PRE-RUN:
1. "Man, are these shorts really this short?"

2. "Oh hey! This is that song I wanted to work out to. Let's turn it up. Louder? Yeah, LOUDER!"

3. "Alright, based on a scale on 1 being I'm the only person here to 10 there is a million people here, how embarrassing is this going to be today?

4. "It's only an hour. I mean, really it's not THAT long.

5. "UGH UGH UGH UGH."

RUN:

6. "'BEGIN WARMING UP WITH A BRISK WALK FOR 5 MIN.' I don't need to warm up. Let's run!"

7. "'THESE ARE THE LAST 10 SECONDS.' OH MY GOD I AM DYING I SHOULD HAVE WARMED UP!"

8. "Okay, When I get done with this I can totally go get a cheeseburger as a reward."

9. "Speaking of food, is that my breakfast I'm tasting?"

10. "Oh wow! That lady is really pretty. "GOOD MORNING" No. She can't be pretty, fit AND Nice. What a bitch."

POST-RUN:

11. "When I reach my mile goal I'm totally buying those cute running shoes."

12. "Man. I am so awesome. I am like a fricken gazelle. YEP."

13. "I really don't want a cheeseburger. I just want a shower and water."

14. "You know, I really do look hot in a black v-neck."

15. "I'm the shit."

Go run. Be fit. Even if it's terrible.

Dip it in gold: Tips for a gold ceiling

Valspar's "Lustrious Amber"

I'm obsessed with gold. I know you have seen the design trend with golds. I took on the ambitious project of painting all of my ceilings gold. I have all ceilings almost done but I have learned some things through the process:

1. Semi-gloss Base coat is essential
Valspar's "Aged Amber"
You may think paint is paint and eventually I'll get the coverage I want. Well, I was ambitious and jumped into my first ceiling applying the gold metallic over my already dark tan satin paint and found it to be more work than I ever imagined. The semi-gloss is the key point in the refraction of the metallic. I can not stress this enough.

2. Use a metallic finish roller
I know I know, you may think, "do I really need to spend the extra money on another roller?" YES. The lap marks produced with a regular -- even high quality roller will drive you crazy. It won't only bother your OCD but will require more coats than needed. It took me three coats with a regular roller and two with the metallic roller. I don't know the last time you've painted a ceiling but painting it once is hard enough! Three times is torture!

3. View the paint in all environments.

When I finished my first ceiling (shown above) It was in the afternoon where the sun brightly came through my curtains. I was in love with the glow it produced. Once the sun set I noticed the feel of my room become a lot darker.

Now this change was something I have gotten used to but at first I panicked. I thought, "my house is too dark!" I have learned that designing with dark colors is all about those around it.

4. White and gold

It's all about the intensity of your whites. When deciding to paint my crown moulding I went with a semi-gloss bright white (Clark + Kenginston "Silent White"). This white mirrors that of my curtains. This bright cold white brightens up the gold environment and also reflects the metallic sheen quite wonderfully.

5. Reign in the royalty

Once your gold labor is complete sit back and enjoy the sheen. I have found the gold in my house to be the most inspiring aspect of all. How do you use gold? How are you inspired by gold? I am currently working on some more gold inspired projects that I will be sure to share!
