I love candles and I always have.  I value candles for their scent but I think most of all I enjoy the light they produce.  The word chandelier translates literally to candle holder. In my home I have a chandelier in every bedroom and I will have one also in my kitchen. I sometimes wish they still had candles in them.  I love decorative candles but I also love frivolous things in use.  I love the way they burn. I know many don't like to burn them but what's the point of having them if you can't enjoy them?

Home Sweet Home

Sometimes I really feel like a hoarder but I tell myself, "No, Logan. It's for a good reason." Today I felt the good reason come to life. I've been working on my house for, well, since I bought it back in May.  It's slowed down a little bit through the holidays but I'm back in the full force now.  I've realized some things through my experiences:

1. If you love it buy it. It may not be there tomorrow

2. If you are committed to a recurring piece (say curtain rods, curtains -- even candles) buy enough for extra and then some. Who knows when that item will be out of stock and you don't want to have to redesign your entire thought process.

3. Experiment with color. You can always buy more paint if you end up hating it.

4. Rich colors + clean white + metallic.

5. Pinterest is a great tool but it's always good to take a step back and be inspired organically. I have found that taking an initial inspiration from Pinterest and combining it with personal significance has created the best result.
